My name is Kimberly Goodwin. People that know me say I have a bubbly personality, passionate about teaching, trustworthy, kind, thoughtful and patient. I have always loved working with children. I just finished my Bachelor’s Degree for Elementary Education and a Concentration in Mathematics and Special Education at Southern New Hampshire University! While at Southern New Hampshire University, I did over 100 field hours in grades K-8! I currently have my Teaching Certification in Elementary Education K-8 and have passed Praxis I and II. I am currently going to school for my Master’s degree in General Special Education K-12. I have always known I wanted to work with children! I am a trained and experienced Orton Gillingham tutor. I have been tutoring 1:1 since 2002 in the Massachusetts and Nashua, NH area. I also tutor students with Executive Functioning disorder in study and organizational skills. My goal is to help students become self-competent and self-confident. I have been teaching for 30 years and continue to train and work to develop the very best program for each child. I like to teach in a way that your child can relate to. I try to make whatever we are learning fun and relate to their everyday life. I have a lot of hands on manipulatives too in my classroom which I am able to bring with me when needed! I have been teaching for 6 years now. I originally started out in Kindergarten which I taught for 3 years, then I student taught in 2nd grade and 3rd grade, taught 3rd grade for a year and now I have been happily teaching first grade for my second year. Throughout these 6 years I have also worked in an after school program grades k-4 and in a summer camp grades k-6. I have been tutoring for 4 years and have experience tutoring in grades 1-4.

I had a 4.1 GPA throughout high school and spent half of my years in honors and AP classes. I am finishing my freshman year of college at Assumption College in Worcester, MA, majoring in Biology and minoring in Spanish. I graduated with honors and made the Dean’s or President’s List every term. I have had over 5 years tutoring students in Kindergarten to College students in all content areas. I have over 9 years working with children ages infant-adult. I have worked in many public and private schools where I worked with a variety of disabilities in the inclusive and self-contained settings. My passion is teaching and learning.
