A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA and a MA in Sociology and attended Dartmouth as a part of my MA. Although my primary interests are education, criminology and issues related to adolescents, I am a well-rounded sociologist with relevant theoretical and methodological competences. In my current job as a content manager in a marketing company I am responsible for educating new writers and I take pride in a job well done. I have worked as a volleyball coach and therefore have experienxe working children of all ages and I understand the importance of motivation. More About This Tutor...

The majority of my experience lies within the field of Human Services/Counseling. However, I have substitute taught for about 18 months, elementary level and high school level. In addition, I have tutored foreign languages on a college level for two semesters.
I have always enjoyed teaching. I try to take into consideration the individual's learning style when teaching. Many kids learn best when a "hands on" approach is incorporated into the lecture or instruction. I am laid back, patient, have a good sense of humor, and have never had difficulties connecting with youth of all ages. Sometimes, I have used creative ways to teach. I feel it is important to hold the interest of a student and ignite a childs' natural curiosity.

A Little Bit About Me...

My career in education includes a wide range of experience. I began as a substitute teacher covering for classroom teachers ranging from preschool to the 12th grade. My innate teaching abilities became evident and I was highly sought after. Returning to college to earn my teaching certification, I gained experience in special education teaching summer school. I student taught 3rd and 4th grade, then was hired to teach 5th grade which I did for 2 years. Returning to my love of special education, my taught for another 3 years. During this time, I successfully tutored many students in language arts, math and social studies.
