World History is one of my top subjects! I am currently pursuing a Minor in History (three years now), and am three classes away from achieving it.

I lived in Argentina fro two years as a teacher, where I taught in both Spanish and English. I have a Minor in Spanish, and am fluent in it. I am three classes away from achieving my Minor in History, which I have been studying since I was a child, and have gained knowledge in how to study and apply historical knowledge, in addition to gaining a vast knowledge about actual historical events.
I have no particular teaching style, and can teach people from all walks of life.

World History is one of my top subjects! Many people find dates to be a challenge, however dates have little importance on history. A few are important, and it is vital to develop a mental timeline, however the real meat of history is learning what happened and then turning that knowledge into comprehension of culture, of motive, and of mankind's natural behaviour. I have taken an Advanced Placement class in history as well as two other courses on advanced world history and geography.

Granted, I am still in school myself, however, I pride myself in exceptional achievements, and a mountain of sharable knowledge. I maintain a 4.0 GPA, and I take college classes as well. I lack teaching degrees and I lack diplomas in any field, yet I guarantee that in some fields -- History and Geography -- I know as much as a college graduate as I study, and have studied since a small child, those fields extensively in my spare time. I love to teach, the few opportunities I have had reaped great feedback and students who came to me personally saying they learned more than had previously. I have taught Bible Classes, Swimming Classes, Geography Classes, and a History class in the past. It is a thrill to teach and make sure that the best knowledge pegs itself into the minds of our populace. Teachers constantly applaud me on being conscientious, hard-working, knowledgeable, active, and ... read more

I am currently a student at Brigham Young University - Idaho where I am pursuing a degree in Biology with minors in Child Studies and Chemistry. This rigorous program has taught me the importance of fulfilling one's potential, the vitality of good study habits, as well as giving me an understanding of children and adolescents. The past two years I have participated in a youth summer program for high school-aged students. I was responsible for giving both formal and informal instruction in leadership skills, self-esteem, and religion. Since last year I have tutored college students in math, specifically in Algebra and Statistics.
I feel that the biggest change for good that any one of us can make is in the lives of the children we find around us. I love teaching. I believe that any child can learn if given the right motivation, tools, and environment. The greatest success any teach ... read more

Probably my greatest gift that I've been given in this life is my love for people. I believe this love manifests itself through my teaching and makes me a unique educator. I am dedicated to my students and I glory in their successes. I know I've done my job right if my student begins to enjoy the benefits of hard work. Talents, knowledge and a thirst for knowledge are only acquired through diligence and persistence, this is something I have learned through studying piano and I strive to pass to my students.
I've gained experience with teaching in an array of ways. Firstly, I'm a recent graduate from BYU-Idaho in Piano Performance earning my Bachelor of Musical Arts. Throughout my training as a professional pianist I studied piano pedagogy and now have a functioning piano studio of my own. In addition, I was a music tutor and teachers assistant helping my fellow students grasp musi ... read more

I specialize in math and science. These fields have complex ideas that I know are hard to approach as a student. Often times, students fail to see the real life applications of higher level math, and this can be a frustration. I emphasize the real life examples and applications of complex math and science. I believe anyone can understand math and science if they have a patient, understanding, and insightful mentor who can break down concepts into simple steps. I try my best to do these things when teaching others.
Recently, I graduated with my BS degree in physics. This major requires a working knowledge of advanced mathematics, and its application to real life scenarios. Working in physics frequently requires learning complex concepts, and being able to explain those concepts to peers for feedback. My degree required I write a senior thesis. Working on my senior thesis he ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in the Socratic Method. Through this tutoring method, the student is asked questions to help them develop understanding on their own. Through this discovery style, the students actually learn in ways that will be remembered most. I believe that any child, teenager, or adult can learn most effectively through their own discovery, with my help and guidance. I believe in having "ah-ha!" moments, and the feeling of relief and excitement when connections are made, and learning happens. That's what I want for my students.
My degree consists of two areas of emphases: English and the Humanities, with a minor in Dance. Through the course of my study, I have learned how to be a better writer, understand and appreciate literature, religions, and cultures of the world. For my last two years at BYU-Idaho, I worked at the university's Writing Center. There, I learned how to tutor on ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I understand that every kid is unique and learns in different ways. I believe that in order to be a successful tutor one must possess more than just an adequate understanding of the subject matter. One must also be able to understand the student's situation, have superb communications skills, and a great sense of humor. I also believe that a tutor must be friendly, supportive, and be able to make learning fun. I am all the above!
I recently graduated from the University of Wyoming with a GPA above a 3.0. I have a degree in Biology and a Minor in United State History. While attending college, I helped tutor several different students who were struggling in General Biology and Physics. I also have two younger siblings who I have helped tutor all throughout their high school and college careers.

As a business major I learned alot about the importance of language and communication. I took classes in english, and writing. In high school I volunteered at an elementary school to help children with ADD and behavioral issues for 3 trimesters. Graduating from BYU-Idaho, I've learned that a quality education is of the utmost importance, not only for college-age students, but starting from infancy. I've earned my BS in Health Science, enabling me to have a greater knowledge of the health and wellness field in general. Also, I've learned to publish various professional research papers, adding to my grammatical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills. I also have a passion for languages--besides gaining fluent knowledge of Portuguese during my LDS mission, I've also learned Spanish and am currently learning Italian at home. During the last few years I've had several opportunities to teach and mentor people with my college internship, and leadership class work.
