I received a B.A. in English from Northern Illinois University in 2010. I am a certified High School English teacher for grades 9-12. I took a class during my B.A. called Advanced Essay Composition and I feel like that shaped the way that I write; and took my practice to a whole new level. It is strategies and methods that I learned in this class that I try to incorporate in my writing and my teaching. I've worked in a residential/ school setting for the last three and a half years. I have private tutored almost all throughout college, mostly because I had many international friends in desperate need for English help. I taught English in Korea; the first 5 months being beginner English (to preschool to fourth graders) and the last 7 months I taught actual subjects children in America learn but at advanced levels (from 3rd grade to late middle school).
