I am experienced in teaching. I have worked within the public school systems as a substitute teacher and as a permanent employee. In addition, I have taught GED classes to adults; and tutored elementary and high school students. I am nearly completed with my Master of Science degree, and I have an earned Bachelor of Science degree from Bellevue University. I am passionate when it comes to teaching. I conduct my lessons with the understanding that every child is an individual. Therefore, they each have their own learning pace and preferences. I believe that learning is best achieved in a comfortable, nothreatening enviroment. People learn best when they understand the importance of the material being taught, something I strive to convey to my students. While I can easily teach a didactic lecturing style, I feel that an interactive approach often better meets the needs of the students. I pursued higher education to the Ph.D. level, most of my experience is based in research but I had the great pleasure of working with students privately and in the University environment. As a private tutor I taught Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology to high school students, helping them to succeed in their studies. I prefer to work one on one with a single student, I do my very best to make my student feel comfortable and ready to learn. I learn what the student likes; music, sports, movies, I use these things to relate to the student and then i'm able to relate the learning material to the students favorite things which I think helps them to be more receptive. I began tutoring while in high school, as a junior and senior I would spend 2-3 afternoons a week at the Middle School helping the learning support classes write book reports.
