I have been working with preschool to high school age students since 2004. I have always had tutoring positions, whether it was for my peers in college, volunteering for the Salvation Army, or running after school programs after graduating. I am a PA certified tutor, with conflict resolution, mentor, and CERT training (Community Emergency Rescue Team). It is important to me to have a profession where I feel that I am helping other people to progress in their lives. I have always enjoyed working with children, especially those of the second, third, or fourth grade level. I am patient, helpful, and considerate. I believe that there are different ways to learn and attack problems, and that all children can succeed if only encouraged to do so. I also believe that practice and learning by doing are essential in learning. I always try to make a difference in students' lives. Education has always been extremely important to me. I have recently retired, having taught third grade for over thirty years. I worked in the public school system during this time, tutoring Math. I have tutored and aided my nieces from elementary school to the present. I still help them with papers and studying for tests.
