I believe education is the most valuable gift we can pass on to our most valuable resources, which is the youth. I have known that teaching is my calling since I was a Freshman in high school. Learning how everything works has always facinated me and sharing that has been equally rewarding. I believe that learning can be fun when it is relevant and interactive. Students have to be given a vested interest in the learning process, asked questions. A good environment is essential to learning. A rich learning environment that cares about the deficiency needs so that intellectual achievement may occur. They will know where they stand. Students will have ideas. Those ideas will be considered valuable. Modeling and scaffolding will be used to create a foundation for learning. The success will create more motivation. Wait time will increase so students can make better responses. Constructivism will be used so the students can apply, and link the lesson to prior knowledge in a way they can retain it. . During my time in college, I switched to become an educator as I discovered a passion to see the lives of children transformed. Since graduating from highschool, I have had the desire to encourage and expand the knowledge base and love of learning for each student in my care. Having grown up in multiple countries, I am fluent in English, Spanish, French and have a MA in Christian Education. In my 11 1/2 years as an educator, I have taught every subject in elementary school, with an emphasis on arithmetic, history, science, reading, composition and grammar.
