Learning Can be Easy and Fun!

I am very patient and I make sure the student thoroughly understands a topic before moving on. I motivate the student to succeed and teach good study skills and test taking skills. My comments on tutoring Social Studies : I am experienced in tutoring most of the middle school and high school Social Studies curriculum, at all levels. If you need help with 6th, 7th or 8th grade social studies, Global History I or II, U.S. History (Regents or AP), a Government class, Psychology, AP World, or AP European, please let me know. (I can not help you with Economics though, alas.)

This is my fourth year tutoring middle and high school students in History and Government. I also have professional classroom teaching experience and volunteer elementary school teaching experience. My students, primarily Global History, World History and European History students, have raised their class grades, passed the Regents exam by many points and earned high scores on the AP. I specialize in both content acquisition and essay writing skills. Some students have worked with me for half a year or more, others for a month or two before cumulative exams.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I love being able to help students feel comfortable with the material they are studying. I have tutored numerous times throughout college, and would like to get back into tutoring students because I find it to be rewarding. As a student who went from living in Germany and being taught that there are many ways of getting the right answer, to moving to America where everything is taught in one way, I have learned to incorporate my tutoring skills to the need of each individual student. My comments on tutoring Social Studies : Content can be very creative, when the teacher brings the facts to life and has the students play the historical roles.

My teaching style is very structured due to my training, however, I can be extremely creative and motivating with the most challenging students!

I teach social studies, but my specialization is teaching argumentative (college level) writing.I have done plenty of SAT prep and tutoring for students at the high school and college level.
