My greatest strength lies with my patience with children and flexibility to see what style of learning enables the child to best master the subject. I have tutored children in reading last summer. It was one of the most gratifying things I have done. I worked with English as second language children ranging from ages 5 to 13. We used a lesson plan and several activities to help children in achieving their reading level goals. Also, in my undergrad experience, I excelled in writing and was very good with meeting deadlines. I am a very down to earth person especially when it comes to kids. I always try to lighten up the mood and make learning things interesting and fun. I don't like to dismiss when I see a child having trouble in something. Every person has a different way of learning, I try to cater to each of their needs.

I have a BS degree in Child Development and a valid teaching credential. This enables me to teach grades levels K-9. I taught Adult Education classes for 17 years. This enables me to tutor math, English, and science. I have also worked with children as a substitute teacher. I have a good understanding of the educational needs of children of all ages. Since finishing my degree and teaching credential progam I have been teaching full time for the last 12 years. I was a tenured teacher in Atascadero teaching all subjects 3-8 from 1998-2001. I am currently teaching in Paso Robles and have been since 2001. I have taught at Flamson Middle School and now teach at Liberty Continuation High School. I primarily teach English and computers but have a Multiple Subject Credential and can easily teach Prealgebra. I love what I do for a living.
