Every child can learn and children learn at different levels. A teaching style must change to meet the needs of the child because what may work for one child may not work for another. I am patient and kind with students while still being firm when teaching students. I use positive reinforcement to achieve goals. I like to form a good relationship with the students because students do their best work when they are trying to please others. When I first attended college I studied elementary education. Not every method works for every child; with one exception, patience. I demonstrate and exemplify patience. If a child feels as though they are in an atmosphere where they are safe, free of ridicule and bias, then they are willing to perform. This process can be a give take scenario however. So, some flexibility is required as well, but eventually the student will become more comfortable with themselves and confident in what they are capable of. With all of my experience and education, I have had the opportunity to work with all facets of children; from those who require a great deal of help, to those who might just need a little more challenge then what their work was providing them.
