I completed a class in high school named Teach Cadet where I learned the basics about education and the importance of being a versatile teacher. My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : This is a subject that has been close to my heart, since elementary school. I love to read and write, and have written many essays and short stories. I have studied creative writing, and would like to some day become an author.

Hello...I am a certified English teacher for grades 6-12 and have been a 7th grade teacher the last 11 years at Matoaca Middle School. Education has always been one of my greatest facinations. I achieved a BA in English grammars, a MLA in creative writing, and fifteen credits towards a PhD in literature and literary criticism. I discovered the writing center at my undergraduate university and became a tutor immediately. I found that I was in a position to learn just as much at the students I tutored. Over the past twelve years, I have continued that facination with learning in voluntary tutoring sessions.
I believe in the program of teaching across the curriculum. As a teacher to be, I believe that students are much more willing to participate in writing goood papers when it is in a subject that has meaning for them. A Little Bit About Me...

We do not all learn to speak, read and write languages in the same way. Some of us learn by mostly hearing or saying; some of us learn by mostly seeing and looking; and some of us learn by mostly doing, using touch and moving parts of our bodies or things. I use all three ways to learn when helping others improve their English. I use hearing, seeing and doing. I check what students learn in one way with the other two ways of learning. There is a name for this kind of teaching. It is called the neuro-linguistic approach to teaching English.
For the last seven years, I have taught and tutored English to adults who speak other languages. In the last two years, I have added tutoring students in grades 3-12.
