A Little Bit About Me...

I believe there is a major difference between teaching the student how to get a good grade and mastering the fundamental concepts that control math and science. When helping a student with Algebra, it is critical to asses their basic skills in mathematical operations. With chemistry, physics and biology it is often a matter of increasing the student’s vocabulary and understanding of the complex terminology and relationships presented by the teacher and the classroom book. My teaching style is to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the student and then build a solid foundation of basic skills.

I firmly believe that you learn best when you're having fun. Once a topic fascinates you, your mind automatically engages more, which helps you remember better. So I work to draw students in by keeping things interesting, using fun examples, humor, and applying things to areas they will actually care about. I want to make you actually WANT to learn. I have a very adaptable teaching style. If one explanation isn't helpful, I'll try to approach from a different perspective, until we get something that works.
