I am currently a semi-retired land surveyor and former TCU instructor (in computer science). As a land surveyor, I use algebra and numerical trigonometry on a daily basis, and, as a result, have a strong working knowledge of the level of math that appears in most pre-algebra and algebra courses. My comments on tutoring Algebra II : Taught Algebra II in public school and have been tutoring Algebra II for over 5 years.

A Little Bit About Me...

I will eventually obtain my PhD in Medical Physics so that I can teach the subjects I have a passion for at the college level. I do have experience teaching high school students as well. I have a straight forward approach to teaching. I get to the point and cater my teaching approach to the individual since not everyone learns the same way. My teaching is simple and easy to understand, no complicated terms unless the student is ready.
I have over 5 years of tutoring experience. I independently tutored in Physics while in my Junior and Senior year earning a Bachelors in Physics and minor in Mathematics. I believe there is a major difference between teaching the student how to get a good grade and mastering the fundamental concepts that control math and science. When helping a student with Algebra, it is critical to asses their basic skills in mathematical operations. With chemistry, physics and biology it is often a matter of increasing the student’s vocabulary and understanding of the complex terminology and relationships presented by the teacher and the classroom book.
