Most of the subjects I have selected I passed with an 85% or better. I also did some tutoring in high school for other students. If I didn't learn it, I am most likely to figure out what is going on. It helps to know before hand what the lesson and subject is, just so I can remember what it is and to be more prepared. I would prefer the library, just because it is big and open. The library in Tooele is a great example. It has rooms that can be used. I would prefer tutoring no more than 10 students at a time. If I can get a copy of the lesson before hand, I can be prepared.

My son & myself have Dyslexia & ADHD, plus, my son has a few other learning disability's, so the experts say. We have learned together how to make all of this work for us. I researched a lot & learned how to teach him how to make it all this work for him. He was on low dose med's for 6 months, I took him off because he learned the difference in 7th grade. No reason for any more med's. I do not think kids should be labeled as "disabled" because others think different then they do! My son thinks way different then my daughter but that doesn't mean either one is wrong. My son is very successful at his job & he is now a boss & he loves his job. He is 31 years old and a great person, everyone like him.

Skyler L. - Salt Lake City, UT 84123 (32.5 mi) - Elementary Tutor - $25.00/hr.
Throughout high school, I had trouble trying to figure out what I wanted to do when I graduated. I took many classes that ranged from Weight Training to Biology. I took many Art classes in which I excelled at. I then took some Computer Technology classes and I loved it. So I figured I would put the two together and took Graphic Design classes. I loved it. I am very competent in using all sorts of Graphic Design programs. I got my first guitar around 8 years ago and just picked it up and learned it. I have been learning ever since. I personally, have taught many people the basics of guitar and gave them the tools to excel in music.

Carlee V. - Provo, UT 84606 (36.2 mi) - Elementary Tutor - $27.50/hr.
I worked at a girls scout camp as a counselor. I taught these girls many things about life and about the importance of learning and improving yourself. I have been a counselor at an elementary school and helped in the classroom. Also, I have have been a babysitter for years and helped children with school work, piano, dancing, and much more. My teaching style is to be supportive and of course helpful; but most importantly, a great listener. children will improve of they are be listened to, not always being taught to.

I prefer to teach French the immersion way by speaking only French with your student and making the input comprehensible through gestures and actions. I'm currently a BYU student studying Elementary Education. I will graduate with the TESOL and Dual Immersion French teaching endorsements. I have been studying French for 8 years and plan to teach in a French immersion school when I graduate. I have been volunteering as a classroom aid (in both English and immersion settings)for 5 years. Tiffany P. - North Salt Lake, UT 84054 (41.4 mi) - Elementary Tutor - $27.50/hr.
I started out my teaching career as a reading specialist for struggling readers in grades 1 through 6. I am trained in a program called Next Steps, which was designed by educators at the University of Utah, for readers below grade level. All of the students that I tutored saw significant improvements in reading and writing by the end of the school year.
I then moved on to become a regular first grade teacher for two years. During this time, I was able to further hone my skills in making learning fun and engaging. I believe this is the key to helping students do well in school.
While I taught full time I had a part time job as a martial arts instructor for children aged 3 to 17, which eventually became my full-time career. Not only did I train students physically, but I trained them mentally. I taught my students about goal setting, never giving up, and how to believe in themselve

I understand the different learning styles and how to appropriately apply them. I enjoy teaching young people and am passionate about their way of discovery into their educational goals and outcomes. I realize that some students become frustrated or distracted; however, I believe once they understand how they learn and how to stay focused, they often achive well above expectatio
