Public school is not always rigorous enough for gifted students. When instruction fails to keep students engaged, they learn poor study habits. Ideally, students master study techniques before entering college either through school instruction or tutoring. I have writing, public speaking and other communications courses at the university level. I have also worked as an editor for the better part of two decades so I am good at identifying writing problems and helping students to correct them. I am also an enthusiastic student of American history and government and enjoy sharing that subject with students.

I graduated in 2006 from Saint Joseph’s University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Fine Arts. As a junior, I was chosen to study art abroad. I have taught 3 year olds, 8 year olds, 12 year olds and high school students and the one thing they all have in common is that they all need a structured environment to reach their academic potential. I believe that it is important to hold students to high expectations and challenge them to understand not only what they are learning, but why they are learning it. Because I have worked with hundreds of students, I know that there are many different learning styles and I will adapt any curriculum to fit a student’s particular learning style.
