Hello, my name is Jessica. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Le Moyne College in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science. I am currently working on my Masters Degree in Accounting in Utica. I have experience tutoring all types of math subject levels. From 1993-2000 I was a part time adjunct professor at Utica College. I found that I had a great passion for teaching. I enjoyed the interaction with students of all ages. I taught all ascpects of accounting, from elementary accounting ( Accounting 1) to masters level accounting. I would gladly welcome the opportunity to teach again.
I believe that each student has a unique way of learning and I try to adapt my teaching to the class. My philosophy is that what we learn in class has to be reinforced with the homework. I am 20 years old. I graduated from high school with honors. I was in advanced english. I also graduated with honors from Madison-Oneida BOCES. I am currently in college for Business Management, and I am also studying Psychology. When I finish I want to work with teenagers. Everyone goes through a hard time when they are teenagers, and I believe I can help. I have an older brother who was struggling through high school, and I helped him to graduate. A Little Bit About Me...

I like to discuss and communicate how various accounting rules and concepts can be rationalized. If one understands the motivation for the rules they can better anticipate how items should be handled and they are more likely to retain information. Simply memorizing facts and rules doesn't serve students well in the long run and that approach is only as good as their ability to recall the proper information at the right time. Even then though, while this may get them through tests and classes, they are not as successful when there is real-world situations that require them to apply their knowledge.
