After achieving a bachelors of mathematics from Kent State University, I obtained a long-term substitute teaching certificate in integrated mathematics grades 7-12. I taught in an alternative school for more than a year from 2008-2009. In addition, I obtained employment in a traditional school for the remaining six weeks of the 2009-2010 school year. I was responsibile for the full duties as a certified teacher including lesson planning.
I believe that children learn in a variety of ways and teachers are responsible for providing this variety. I like many teachers, have a constructivist approach. My goal is to simply to help. Everyone can learn, even in subjects they find difficult. I understand from first-hand experience why people can find the sciences difficult, especially Math and Physics, because I myself have had great difficulty with them in the past.
