I have always loved school and find that I miss it at times. Because of that I jump at the chance to help those who need it. I college I helped other students who had math and physics classes. I have learned the skills that I needed to both learn and remember and have helped others to do so also. My best friend's little brother is dyslexic and I have helped him throughout high school and now in college. I am very easy going, patient, a problem-solver. I tutored all through college. I have tutored one-on-one and small groups, and I have also been a TA and taught a few class periods. In addition i tutored a student in High School in several subjects. Most of my experience tutoring has been in math, physics and engineering, but I am also fluent in Spanish.
My teaching style is helping the student arrive at the correct solution. In problem based courses this is usually done through asking the student what they think the next step should be and guiding them through the process of problem solving. Once they start to understand problem solving then they do not only improve in the course that I am tutoring them in but in their other courses as well. In a nutshell I try to help students learn how to learn.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a community college adjunct professor for the past 5 years, teaching physics and physical science. I have also tutored in the College Learning Center where I have helped students individually and in small groups in the subjects of physics, astronomy, chemistry and math. I have a BS in Astronomy and am also a graduate of Purdue University with a Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
I believe that good teachers must truly like their subjects and also must care about whether or not their students really understand the material. They must find ways to motivate their students to learn and cultivate an interested in the subject. I can teach any age since I have experience with almost with age group of 5 yr to 30 yr. and I love my job
Since I was in high school I have been teaching my sisters to get their way around with Science/Math/English. I realized my understanding more towards this subjects as I went teaching Students through out my Under graduation. I got admitted in Rochester Institute of Technology, NY as masters student along with teaching assistance.
