I have worked in two Arkansas public schools in the area of Special Education for the last 20 years. For over half of my career I have been employed as a special education designee/ consultant. I have also completed the Barton Reading and Spelling System training and work with several students. I am in love with how fast this system works to close gaps. I currently am employed as a special education designee where I tutor a few students in Barton, teach and supervise the special education teachers and work on due process compliance. I have three children of my own with sensory, attention, hyperactivity and learning problems. I understand how hard it is on both the children and the parents when there is no clear path to success.

My teaching style has been called outside of the box by some of my colleagues, n that I dont mind going above and beyond woth students to learn. I use real world problems, music and different memory devices hands on sports, clothes art and word problems that students make up inorder to make the problem real to the individual student.
My interest in education comes from my personal experience. I started off as a Probation Officer after I finished College with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. I currently hold a bachelor degree in math education. I have been a reading and math tutor for the Pine Bluff School District for about ten years. I have worked as a math teacher at a detention center for boys for two years. I have worked as a six grade teacher for a private school. I also have worked as a math teacher for the Altheimer Public School in which I taught such subjects as geometry, algebra, and trigonometry. I also have tutored children at my church.
