My comments on tutoring Jazz Dancing : Extensive study and performance

At 21 years old I am a performer and have 30+ credits of stage, film, radio and television performances. I have been singing and dancing my whole life, studying from world class instructors, such as Mark Yonally, Catherine McDaniel, Kathleen Clawson, Delreen Hafenrichter, Wendy Barker, and others. I have studied music education, theatre, voice and dance at Oklahoma City University as well as the University of New Mexico. I have several years experience working with children as young as 3 and adults up to 40 in various aspects of dance, music, theatre and film editing. I work for, and helped found, The Growing Stage children's education program in Albuquerque, NM. Children are an absolute joy to work with, and I believe in respect and having fun!!

A Little Bit About Me...

I have extensive experience teaching all aspects of English, writing and composition, grammar, and literature. I have taught at University of New Mexico for the past seven years during my graduate work, and as a part-time instructor. In my teaching I commonly have worked one-on-one with students in the writing process. I am also a poet and creative writer with a broad base of knowledge in the humanities and arts to draw from. Though I have been working with college students, I love younger students as well and have much patience and adaptability with learning styles and levels.
I believe that listening is a key to helping a student succeed in a subject matter that may not come easily to them.
