I completed my Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry and received my Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2005. Currently, I’m an adjunct faculty at the Columbia-Greene Community College (SUNY) in the division of science. I was an adjunct faculty at the College of Saint Rose in the department of communication science and disorders and an adjunct faculty at the College of Mildred Elley in the department of medical studies. I worked as a teaching assistant in the department of chemistry at the University at Stony Brook, department of Gross Anatomy in St. Christopher’s College of Medicine, and the department of Genetics/Biochemistry in St. Christopher’s College of Medicine. I'm very easy going during tutoring sessions, and open to students asking questions until they understand the information. I take multiple approaches to explaining concepts if students don't understand them at first. No one teaching style works with all students, or even a majority of them. I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to make academic subjects interesting and relevant to different students. I usually use a combination of guided discovery, question-and-answer, and hands-on approaches to teaching and learning.
My broad-based educational background gives me a firm foundation for interacting with students on a variety of levels. I have taught both French and Mathematics at the college level, have tutored Math, Physics and Chemistry at the college level, and have substituted in high schools and junior highs as well. As a research mathematician with GE, I have explained mathematical concepts to adults with a wide range of backgrounds.
