I work on skills such as audience and situational analysis, research, organization, delivery, body language, and listening. Since undergraduate work, I have worked in the business world, primarily in the manufacturing arena. My academic experiences have continued on some level. In times past I tutored high school math students in North Carolina. I am proficient is equations, inequalities, Cartesian Coordinate System, polynomials, factoring and functions.

I enjoy the interaction with the students when I taught at Shoals Christian. I am more of a concepts kind of guy, wanting the student to grasp the concept of what is going on in a specific problem. I enjoy helping others and serving them through the tutoring opportunities I have at the job I am currently working.

A Little Bit About Me...

I first and foremost believe that every child can learn, and I refuse to entertain any idea that says otherwise. I have found that a constructivist approach works best for most children, and I will always try this approach first. I try to make learning as hands on and relevant to the real world as possible.
I graduated from one of the top teaching schools in the nation (according to NCATE), and have a degree in elementary and special education. I specialized in math education, but am also qualified to teach English, science, and social studies. I have worked with children as young as 2 years old and as old as 15 in a formal setting. I have helped children go from hating a subject to being successful and loving it.

I am a whole brain power teacher. Most of my experience is with exceptional children from a range intelligence. Intelligence is relative, and it is the teacher's job to highlight a student's strengths.
I am preparing to graduate in the spring of 2011 from Mississippi State University with a special education degree. I have studies pedagody and methods for two years with a range of experiences in all types of classrooms. I will be a highly qualified teacher in the spring.
