Due to my undergraduate experiences at NCAT, I was able to develop new skills while enhancing the ones that I already possessed. While at A&T, I earned a degree in African American studies, in which I learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing graduate level research papers. Basic education requirements enabled me to gain and understanding in many different subjects such as math and science. I earned a bachelors degree in Elementary Education with special attention to reading from Purdue University. In Aug. 2008-May 2009 I taught kindergarten at West Grove Elementary in Center Grove Community School Corporation. During this time I filled in for two teachers on extended leaves. This experience allowed me to gain knowledge about teaching and how to instruct diverse students.
