English is one of my top subjects!

I graduated from my Master's program with a 4.09 GPA and was inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. I have taught in the public school system for over 7 years at all grade levels from Kindergarten to Grade 12. I have taught all subject areas as well as Special Education, Resource, and AIS Reading and Math. I also spent over 11 years in the construction industry working on highways, bridges and airports as a Project Manager and Surveyor. I trained other survey crew members and equipment operators in the use of the latest technical equipment like GPS for surveying, equipment automation systems, and robotic total stations.

I am a friendly, out going person who is very invested in my students work. I believe that to write well one must have a relationship with the content that matters to him or her. I enjoy learning about a person and taking on a mentorship role as well as a direct and focused editing role.
I have extensive experience tutoring and mentoring students in creative writing and composition arenas. As lead teaching assistant for entry-level undergraduate Creative Writing courses at Oberlin College, I facilitated small group workshops, provided students with feedback on their writing, and wrote lesson plans designed to help each individual improve technically as a writer.
