A Little Bit About Me...

When I was a kid I used to ask questions about things. My questions were usually of the natural sciences bent. I was eight. As an adult, knowing I was going to have a daughter, I discovered that I needed to be respected in the world for my knowledge so I could have a career that could support my daughter. I became a great student. After a while I found that it wasn’t just chemistry that I loved. It was TEACHING chemistry that I loved. It was sharing the knowledge and sharing the discovery. I spent fifteen years going to community college and Eastern Washington University. I earned my Associates in chemistry and my BAE in chemistry. I have tutored in chemistry, math and Turkish language.

I have always felt that everyone can learn. I recognize that for some there are more obstacles to overcome and it may take more time and energy, but I still believe they are capable. I have come across many students that have somehow got it in their mind that they "just can't do math" and not once have I seen this to be true. It is encouraging and exciting to see students grow in confidence and skill as they recognize their true capability.
