A Little Bit About Me...

I have obtained a bachelor degree in biopsychology from GVSU, which required me to learn many levels of science and math as well as anatomy and physiology. I have a deep understanding and appreciation for this field of study and have produced many reports and essays in the aforementioned fields. I have tutored many students in math, psychology and the social sciences already. I have always excelled in English and grammar skills also. I have held a job teaching the mentally and physically handicapped skills of daily living. I also have a certain skill for understanding speech impairments. At the University of Tampa I earned a BS in Biochemistry. While completing my degree I became knowledgeable in many areas of math and science. I also gained skills in grammar while writing research papers, lab reports, and essays in various classes. My love for teaching goes as far back as my high school years. Specifically, in 2004, when I graduated from high school, I decided to take a gap year before enrolling in college. During that time, I worked as a teacher’s assistant in a first grade class. That experience was both enjoyable and humbling for me because aside from performing my assigned duties to enhance teaching and learning, I served as a mentor to the young children. The realization that they looked up to me gave me a renewed sense of work ethic, challenging me to work hard and give off my very best. As a recent college graduate (and current grad student), I am very much in tune with the subjects I am able to teach, and well versed in most fields of science. I graduated from the Honor's College at Xavier University, which required the completion of accelerated courses, even in areas outside my major. Currently, I am enrolled in a Master's program at Grand Valley State in the areas of Cell and Molecular Biology, with an emphasis on Biotechnology. Additionally, I am the 2nd oldest of 5; I've had three younger siblings to tutor my entire life, and all three have always been perfectly willing to give their unabashed feedback.
