I have been a teacher for 27 years and have a masters degree in reading. I have taught grades 2-5. I taught third grade for 15 years in Galena Park ISD. I became a content mastery teacher for 2 years. I then taught art for 2 years. I received my masters in reading and became a reading specialst. I have been a reading specialist now for 8 years and I am currently employed by Schertz Cibolo University City ISD. The way public schools are set up they focus on excelency on state tests, and don't build up on needed stepping stones for the next years levels.
