A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring grades K-9 for quite a few years. I've also taught a preschool class while in high school. I am currently majoring in Early Childhood Education and Special education at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. I've participated in numerous afterschool programs to help children succeed and give them the confidence they need to step up to the plate and earn the "A" they deserve.

I have a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering from MIZZOU. I am very proficient in technical editing, critiquing papers and writing technical papers.
Hands on, Practice based, through step by step instruction. Visual learning whenever applicable. Geometry, algebra, physics, and some calculus are in my range of teaching. A Little Bit About Me...

Through my teaching experiences I have developed a "never say die" teaching style. I am willing to try as many methods as it takes in order to help the student achieve academic success. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been employed by the Cambria Heights School District for 14 years as a Title 1 educator. I currently am involved in curriculum math and reading. My job mainly deals with helping students achieve success by developing learning skills that fit the individual needs of specific students and adapting regular classroom instruction to fit those needs.
Most lessons can be taught in various styles but teachers are often faced with a curriculum guideline that they must follow. Often they do not have time to reteach the lesson and students begin to fall behind. With encouragement, guidance, and a new approach, many students can not only "catch up" but also stay succesful in that class.

I have always enjoyed working with children, especially those of the second, third, or fourth grade level. I am patient, helpful, and considerate. I believe that there are different ways to learn and attack problems, and that all children can succeed if only encouraged to do so. I also believe that practice and learning by doing are essential in learning. I always try to make a difference in students' lives.
Education has always been extremely important to me. I have recently retired, having taught third grade for over thirty years. I worked in the public school system during this time, tutoring Math. I have tutored and aided my nieces from elementary school to the present. I still help them with papers and studying for tests. Additionally, I am presently taking a course dealing with the writing of children,s books.
