I have an unparalleled amount of patience.

My first teaching experience was in high school teaching at after school programs about basic economic principles that may apply to kids. That was my first time understanding that I have potential to assist others in grasping topics. My last class was a self-contained 6th grade, with a 34% ELL and 14% special education population. My class average reading level rose from 4.6 to 7.1. Of all the students in the school who surpassed the required State testing and higher District goals in both reading and math, 75% came from my class, as did the winners of the school's essay contest, spelling bee and geography competition. My first career was in medicine where I gave direct care, taught military/civilian classes and participated extensively in research, gaining a deep understanding of science biology and chemistry and human A&P.

A Little Bit About Me...

I received a BA in General Business from WSU, and was honored as a Cum Laude graduate. The courses were varied and included a wide array of math application, from supply and demand curves to interest rate calculations. My classmates gave me the nickname "Webster" because I was frequently asked to edit their papers and to tutor them in several different subjects. I love working with teenagers, and watching their faces change when they really GET a concept for the first time!
