I believe in creativity. As an elementary school art teacher I have lots of experience working with kids. I am also familiar with Greensboro having graduated from Guilford College. I have tutoring experience. In my current position I tutor a 4th grade group twice a week. In college I was the director of an after school tutoring program called CAT kids which assisted students with homework and did creative projects with them to help them academically, encourage creativity and provide support. I am a disciplinarian. I have an excellent ability to gain a students attention, keep it and the results of my students have been well above average. I have a knack to bring into the classroom, outside events (latest ball games, Olympics, etc.) to establish a 'bond' between myself and the student. This allows me to gain their confidence as well as not create a bored atmosphere. I find this very important, especially with the more difficult students.
As seen from above, I have valid tutoring experience in both middle grades and HS. I was in the student teaching program at Wake Forest and upon graduation, I was a substitute teacher in the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County School system. I also participated in the Junior Achievement program in the Piedmont NC region for over 5 years. I am currently a tutor with the "No Child Left Behind Program."

I have a BA in Theatre Arts, a minor in Dance, and have received a Montessori Certification from NAMC. However, I learned the fundamentals of teaching (being on time, prepared, patient, and encouraging) from my first job as a dance teacher while I was still in high school. After University, I taught ESL in Korea for three years, as well as developed curriculum for a set of nationwide schools. In addition to that, I tutored students privately outside of the classroom. Throughout my teaching experience, I interacted with a wide range of students with varying abilities.
