A Little Bit About Me...

As a business major I learned alot about the importance of language and communication. I took classes in english, and writing. I was a tutor for over 100 students for 2 years in finance and taght a class twice a week on Microsoft Excel. In high school I volunteered at an elementary school to help children with ADD and behavioral issues for 3 trimesters. I was a staff member at Cedar Badge, a week long leadership training course for scouts, teaching leadership skills.
I like to have visuals. They are important no matter what age. i use powerpoint, pictures, think of stories, and try to get the students involved as much as they can. People either learn, by seeng, doing, or both, so it is good to teach using all of the learning tools.

Teaching college students has been very rewarding. I encourage active participation in discussion and groups. Each class is started with a question and answer period about any nutrition issue they might have. Most assignments have an aspect of self discovery so that each student can learn something about their nutrition status. Late work is not allowed and attendance is not taken; rather random "reflection" responses are asked to reward those that attend and to ascertain their understanding of the concepts discussed. A Little Bit About Me...

I knew I wanted to be a teacher from the time that I was a Kindergartner. That may seem to be a silly dream for a five-year-old, but I have always loved education. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in April of 2010, and my Idaho Teaching Certificate in September of 2010. I am state certified to teach all subjects for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. I have a musical background, mostly vocal, and experience with children who have ADD/ADHD and Tourette's Syndrome. I have been a teacher and tutor for a few years. I taught in a high school English and Music. Right after I graduated High school I was asked to help struggling students and teach a bit when the teacher was gone. Also I have worked in Elementary schools I have taught lessons at least once a week. I have been in teaching methods classes and I have take Education psychology. I have also been able to in three months encourage students to improve grades that are at a 50% low to a 90-100% high.
I teach from the core of a person they have the inner agency to choose to succeed and they can succeed if they desire to be great they will be great. Also I believe in teaching through the nine learning intelligences as well as the six thinking hats. Also I teach by blooms taxonomy up to synthesis and evaluation.
