I completed my undergraduate degree in Dramatic Arts in 2011. I have directed several theatrical production and dramatic scenes. Additionally, I have worked 1 on 1 with many students on dramatic pieces and monologues for auditions and competitions. I also have served as a judge for several speech and drama competitions (including the National Forensic League). I currently teach Public Speaking on the college level.

Although I have been self employed for the last 6 years, I went back to school last year to add Science and Math for middle school to my certification. I passed the Praxis for both of those subjects spring of 2010. I was not able to get a full time teaching position this year. I went back to working for myself but would love to tutor. I have tutored for 3 years while I worked for Tryon Elementary school. I had great success with the students I worked with, in particular concerning math. A Little Bit About Me...

Having taught high school in both affluent and underprivileged areas I strive to make sure that every student has a positive learning experience. My degree is a BS in Communication/Business with a minor in education. Language has always been my first love and I continue to take classes related to this field. The past few years I have worked in sales but I continue to tutor.
My philosophy has always been, "make it interesting and they will learn." However, what is interesting to you and I may not be interesting to the next person. Therefore, I listen to the child and figure out their learning style and interests. Only then can I properly teach and know they understand the subject matter.
