A Little Bit About Me...

I love to learn and everyone learns differently. I believe that if the information is not being understood one way, then we need to find another way to instruct. Hands-on learning and learning through experience always leaves a lasting impression. Just memorizing facts, although in some cases that is necessary, it is just not fun for all students and just may not stick unless learned in a fun way. I want to make learning fun because no one should ever stop learning. There is just too much out there to sit back and let life pass you by.
I attended a preparatory school in Junior High and High School. I then went on to Mississippi College where I obtained a Bachelor degree in Home Economics with an emphysis on Fashion Merchandising. My teaching style is in form of participation. I like my students to be part of the lessons. I believe teaching (or education) is not a one person show. The best way for to students to learn is by making them participate. It is not just a matter of giving lectures and tests. It is a matter of involving them also in the lectures.
