A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a classroom teacher for the past four years in both elementary and middle school. Both of my parents are educators, so I spent a great deal of time tutoring and volunteering in schools prior to my teaching career. I also have a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. My strengths are in the areas of language arts, reading, and social sciences.
I like to observe children to determine what learning styles best fit their personalities and strengths. I believe in the capabilities of all children, when their teachers find the proper ways to motivate and support their learning. I find that building a trusting relationship in which students feel comfortable asking questions and thinking critically are best for making gains.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am driven to help others especially through education. I have a BS in Biology and Chemistry from Duke University which allowed me to have in depth understanding of both subjects. Furthermore I have experience tutoring a college bound student with Biology and Pre-calculus, furthermore I have additional tutoring experience in math, reading, language and all areas of the sciences.
I believe that education is the key to success and I hope to encourage my students to see the fun and excitement in learning rather than treating it as a task they have to do. I am very creative and patient when it comes to teaching my students. I think all children have natural curiosity and it just needs to be sparked by a patient and fun person. I love working with children of all levels. I firmly believe all children can learn if given the proper opportunity.
