A Little Bit About Me...

I tutored fellow students regularly in Spanish, French, and German all 4 years of college, as I studied in Europe and Mexico, and was placed in advanced college levels my first semester in college. In the garment industry I used Spanish daily with subcontractors. In the hospitality industry I was used as a greeter for foreign language conventions, and to interpret foreign language E-mails. I spent 6 weeks as a 3rd grade Spanish student teacher in college, and the students were sad I was leaving-they loved Spanish while I was there. I am a believer in incorporating 'play acting' scenarios as part of teaching and of breaking down sentences, phrases, and words that more deeply imbed the logic behind the way the language is spoken.

Therefore, I have a very well-rounded background in both the sciences and the liberal arts. I am also certified to teach English as a foreign language. I have worked with many non-native English speakers to improve or perfect various aspects of the English languages, including speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension.

I prefer to teach by utilizing real-life situations that are pertinent to the subject matter. A Little Bit About Me...

I earned a PHD in Theoretical Physics from Switzerland and then came to the US as a postdoctoral researcher. For the last ten years my focus has been teaching mostly at the undergraduate college level. I am heavily involved with teaching at all level. I developed innovative modules for use by Middle School teachers. Throughout these years, I have also tutored HS students.
