Making Learning as fun as possible.

I prefer to have a fun learning environment. I think you learn from hearing, seeing, and doing.
I’ve had many years of practice in the tutoring field dealing with the fact that my brother has a learning disability. He likes to have fun and thinks that leaning is boring, so I try to make learning as fun as possible. Then I have my student on student tutoring when the students tutor each other. I think its better that way because most students don't really pay attention to their teachers but they take it better when it comes from another student. Sometimes its better because something you understand they may not understand and when you explain it to them then may be they will understand it a little better. Basically what im saying is that some kids learn better from other kids.

Currently a junior at the University of Memphis, I am seeking a Bachelor's degree in English. I love to write, and have always been the dictionary for people, so my concentration is in Creative Writing. I have very high marks in all my English classes, (transcripts for which available upon request) and am currently 12,000 words into my first book. I have tutored children of many ages in the past, many of whom suffered with audio/visual difficulties such as dyslexia and other reading/comprehension difficulties. I have worked with the Memphis City/ Shelby County school system for 16 years as a substitute teacher. I have managed to substitute in all grades to include Pre-K up to the twelth grade. Excellent Reading Tutor with 25 years in the classroom/tutor

When I teach I like to show alot of enthusiasm for the subject that we're working on. I love to learn and I try to pass that on to my students. I use alot of positive reinforcement and praise. A Little Bit About Me...

Reading and writing are, and have always been, enjoyable for me. However, I know that a lot of people do not feel the same way. My goal is to show students that if he or she can get past the miring details that oftentimes come with English, it can be pretty dang interesting.
