I have always been driven to achieve a high level of excellence in everything I do. As a college student, I tutored many of my friends and peers for free. I have tutored several children since graduating college for free as well, and have always enjoyed helping others learn and understand new things. I love children of all ages. I am very patient and laid back. I am kind, and considerate of others. My goal would be to help the child learn and understand, while making the experience a fun and rewarding one. My teaching style is very hands on. I understand that students learn in a variety of ways. Some are hands on, and need to actually get their hands on the project to understand. Some learn by seeing it. They have to see it and then maybe write it and learn by visualizing. Some learn by listening. They can listen to a lecture and hang on to every word. I understand that all children are different, and therefore lessons have to be taylored to fit each child's learning needs. I love children and enjoy teaching. When I was teaching in a public school, I was very well liked by both children and parents. I was there for every child; not just the good ones. I like to teach using a hands-on approach. I believe the best way to learn is to do or at least attempt to do. I really find satisfaction when I see the “light bulb” go off and there is a glimmer if understanding in the eyes of my pupil. For the past 10 years I have been teaching a wide variety of students ranging in age from their 80’s to 8. I obtained my BS in Information Technology which gives me a vast knowledge of computer applications, networking, and technical communications. I have also worked in a higher academic institution and have extensive knowledge of grammatical skills as well as different formats for composing research papers.
