I have taught middle school language arts for 15 years in both public and private schools. I excel in teaching young people how to write clearly, completely, and concisely. While I can teach them grammar, punctuation, spelling, organization, and research skills. CONTENT often comes from the heart rather than the head. My comments on tutoring Composition : I have taught writing and composition to all three of my older children. I emphasized mastering writing simple, compoound and complex sentences, various styles of paragraphs with a good attention-grabbing sentence and conclusionary remarks. We used the book, Mastering the 5-Paragraph Essay and learned to write various types of essayd: narrative, compare-contrast, expositon, persuasive and literary analysis.

I received my training from Cedarville University, Wright State University, Plymouth State College and Keene State College. I received my BA from Cedarville University in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Special Education. I completed more training through a teacher mentor program through Plymouth State College to gain my Special Education certification in NH. I took 9 credits towards my masters at Keene State in the area of Special Education. I taught for 6 years in a rural school in NH, where I was a self-contained special ed. teacher for 4 years and a 4th grade teacher for 2 years. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored other students in science courses and lead a laboratory course. These were rewarding experiences as I watched my peers learn and thrive in academics.
