My style of education is to teach by modeling. Students need to see things in a step-by-step format with instructions, followed by an immediate example. I also provide sample argumentative essays for students who learn by seeing a complete model. My counseling style is to work with students, first by building a rapport and then using that as the foundation to get a feel for their college/career interests. I then look at their grades to help them build a custom transitional plan into early adulthood. I have been a teacher for the last fifteen years. I teach social studies, but my specialization is teaching argumentative (college level) writing.I have done plenty of SAT prep and tutoring for students at the high school and college level. I started tutoring the ASVAB in 1996. I had just been honorably discharged. A young friend of mine was having Difficulty with the exam but was motivated towards joining. She had tried a tutor that was attending college but It was not working. In less than eight hours contact time, l was able to get her scores high enough to work as a Operation Specialist for the Navy. I have sinced successfully helped recruits raise test scores starting as low as 14 (AFQT). Some of my students have earned scores high enough to be considered for officer programs.
