After completing my Master of Science degree in Literacy Education, I went on to work as a Reading Specialist in New York City. I gained extensive experience in working with children with a wide variety of reading difficulties. I was able to structure sessions to meet the individual needs of my students. I went on to teach English Language Arts to fifth and sixth grade students where I incorporated authentic literature and read-alouds into my curriculum. I have always known I wanted to work with children. I enjoy working in classrooms, as well as in the more relaxed settings, such as summer and after-school programs. I graduated in 2005 from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and a concentration in Spanish. As a Siena College graduate I developed a very hands on approach to active learning. Through classroom lecture and instruction I've completed the necessary coursework to complete my BS of biology. Due to my strong work ethic I've gained knowledge and skills in the physical sciences, as well as in other subject areas. During my college years I subbed as teacher at a public K-12 school.
