My comments on tutoring American History : Graduated with a Minor in history with a focus on American History courses.

I am a former Geology student at SUNY Cortland who graduated May 2015. Throughout my career I have proven my strengths in knowing, understanding, communicating, and sharing Geology/Earth Science. In high school I took basic Earth Science earning a 100 as a grade in the class and also received a 100 grade for the NYS Regents Exam. I continued this in college graduating Magna Cum Laude with multiple appearances on the president's/dean's lists and earned several awards for success in Geology. I also was vice president of Geology Club for 2 years. Most importantly, I was a teaching assistant for the Earth Science portion of the integrated Earth Science/Biology course at SUNY Cortland for 2 semesters. Spanish and History Major

I taught Pre-K for 1 year and Kindergarten for 1 year as well. I have earned a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have over 15 years of teaching experience in all grade levels. I love to teach and see the ideas light up the eyes of the person who suddenly got a concept. I think teaching should be adaptable and should fit the learning style of the student. Visual tasks, memory games, and hands-on-learning are, in my opinion, the best way to help someone truly learn (versus rote memory).
