My comments on tutoring Microsoft Office : I use this program regularly and I also teach technology classes to students grades K-8 in a private school.

I believe my patience and creativity allows children to feel comfortable with their own learning needs. I work with them and help them find their unique learning style. We then build on that style to build their confidence and ability. All children can learn once we find their unique learning "channel".
I have been a Special Education Teacher for 15 years and an administrator for 5 years. I have taught at both the elementary, intermediate and high school levels. I have worked with students who have been severely cognitively disabled and those that have had multiple attention and behavioral concerns. I am very patient and have been able to create systems to provide structure to keep kids on track. I always want children to know what to expect and have a structure in which to be successful.

My comments on tutoring Microsoft Office : All Office applications

Tutoring Microsoft Excel (and VBA) since it was called Excel97 (that would be 1997), started back then with individuals with high-education backgrounds, later, things went to other backgrounds, groups, company-sponsered lessons, etc. Focusing on Excel, then expanding to other program languages, like ASP (Classic), VB.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JQuery, PHP, and others. Love showing people what we can do with Excel, yup, I have a passion since the first day I sat in front of it, and you will love it too once you understand it.
Will mostly start at a high level, to check if this is something for you or not, then if you can survive 1st hour, you can sure be good candidate for Excel advanced user, then all doors will open for us, and will love this application that in my opinion is the most important applications you can work on these days.

I love teaching and working with all types of students. I believe that to enable our children to learn we must first teach them how to be critical thinkers. I have always had a passion for reading and hope to help other students discover their passion.
As a young adult I always had a passion for teaching. I began tutoring at a young age and then after high school began working towards my teaching certificate in English. While in college I worked as a private tutor and also volunteered as a tutor at a local middle school. I currently teach high school English and also advise our school's newspaper and yearbook.

Along to way to obtaining my various degrees, my sentiment changed from achieving an accounting degree to achieving more knowledge in multiple areas. I pursued this avenue in order to expand my horizons as well as my marketability upon graduation. Instead of becoming a graduate with a degree in accounting, I became a multiple graduate with knowledge in many different areas, including accounting and financial management. Obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, a Bachelors Degree in Technical Management, and a Masters Degree in Accounting and Financial Management allowed me to better prepare myself for any and all opportunities.
Although I have never formally taught in a classroom on my own, I did assist in teaching a few of the classes I took during my first degree schoolwork while working toward my Bachelor Degree in Accounting. I assisted other classmates who didn't seem to ca ... read more

I have a passion and love of teaching Elementary aged students. I believe that all children should have their learning style addressed in my teaching. Differentiation of instruction is essential to reaching these students, and I strive for this ideal each time I am teaching students. I am very down to earth, and will gladly help a student on a more one-to-one basis in the classroom. I try and create a classroom of support, an idea that all students can contribute and feel comfortable with participating. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been driven to attain academic excellence. I have two degrees: an AS with high honors and a BS in Biochemistry Magna Cum Laude. As such I have taken many courses in math and science, and I am also interested in foreign languages and the social sciences. During the past 5 years, I have received level 3 tutoring certification (the highest available) from a local college where I was previously employed as a tutor. My main expertise is in math and science (especially chemistry), but I have also tutored students in psychology, English, Spanish, German, and study skills.
I love teaching and getting to know my students along the way. I have worked with many people; some young, some older, and some who spoke very little English. I have learned that everyone is capable of achieving extraordinary things, sometimes they just need to have the information presented in a simp ... read more

I believe that learning occurs through doing, particularly when it comes to writing. Students become better writers by putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard). There are obviously techniques to be taught and encouraged, but individual discovery is key. As a tutor, I believe that it is my responsibility to serve as a guide, keeping learners on track and pointing out opportunities for getting closer to the ideal.
As a graduate assistant at Northern Illinois University, I taught composition, primarily using popular culture as a topic for expository writing and developing critical thinking skills and techniques. I have also served as a substitute teacher in the Rockford Public Schools in several subject areas. Most recently, I spent five+ years as the Communications Editor for a global manufacturing company, where I was responsible for all sales literature and communication in th ... read more

I enjoy teaching greatly. I recognize many students have difficulties with mathematics and I try to relate to them and help them. Math was not always my strong point; I had to work hard to do well in my math classes. I struggled in high school but have now attained a degree in mathematics and have become a teacher. I feel my struggles early on helped me to relate to the students and help them today.
While at Appalachian State I tutored upward bound high school students. I also tutored some privately. While at Kansas State I tutored privately.

I believe education should be a life-long-learning process for every person. Education is the key for success and I like to help other students reach that success. As a Christian I think is important to get to know our Lord. I have been working with kids at church for more than five years. I have helped perform and create different activities for the kids at church, mentor adolescents and some adults. I can adapt and understand different personalities. I know that the one-on-one settings encounters on how to improve focus: offers guidance, and can lead to increase career opportunities as well as increase personal satisfaction in students.

I am a friendly and easy to talk to person. I strive to make my tutoring and mentoring sessions into conversations rather than a one-way lecture. When tutoring or mentoring, I usually let the student lead the session so that I can assess where his or her strengths and weaknesses lie. I like to let them take the initiative because it actively engages them in the learning process versus passively listening to me. I also like to break down concepts to the basics and share my own tips on how to remember and understand these concepts. Finally, I believe ample and genuine encouragement is the way to motivate students to be successful.

I believe that all children can learn, and when a child has difficulty grasping a concept, the teacher must change their technique. I have used a variety of methods when working with children. Manipulatives, flash cards ,games and stimulus equivalence training are just a few. I also believe that a child that needs extra help with a subject should not feel like they are being punished. A teaching session should not just help a person learn a concept, but help develop a passing for knowledge and learning.

I love watching and learning from children. I believe that learning is closely related to confidence. I like to take the time to get to know children and understand what they like so that I can better understand how their brain works and how they process information. In understanding what they like, this gives me the ability to let them show me something new. The best way that I retained information in college was to teach someone else what I was studying. As the children learn the new information, I like to have them show me the new information the same way they did their hobby or interest.
