My comments on tutoring Study Skills : Study skills are of critical importance especially early in a students academic career. Finding a students specific mechanism of study is a something important for sucess. Some study best in libraries, some with the radio blasting. My comments on tutoring Study Skills : How important study skills are and many students need assistance in this area. I have assisted students with this, especially in the upper grades of middle to high school.

When I work with students, I approach them with a positive attitude emphasizing their strengths while working on their weaknesses as well. An excellent rapport is also needed for their success and this occurs due to my positive attitude looking for a student's strengths. Our sessions are focused but can be fun as well. With a positive approach, students are motivated and attentive. A major component of our tutoring sessions is to teach students to be his/her own self advocate and "learn how to learn."
