Friendly tutor with over five years of experience working with children and adults of all ages. I am a an active learner and listener, so students and I are able to build relationships quickly and can focus on making learning engaging. Prior to working with any student, I always review the subject matter and prepare well in advance to tailor the lesson to the student's individual learning style. I can assist with numerous subject areas- just ask!
I try to engage my students in every way possible. Reading and reciting are great for vocabulary memorization, but I try very hard to bring the subject matter to life in a meaningful way to the student. Pictures, music, relevant historical information- anything to help facilitate learning.

I tutored students in various grades, mostly in mathematics, but also in science and social studies. I also tutored in physics and helped students understand the relationships between science and mathematics.
I have a love of working with especially young children. I feel that children want to learn. I believe that children will learn through immersion in music and mass media. I also would teach a child to learn the step by step basics of mathematics and use each example in a realistic setting.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have approximately one year of experience of professional teaching working with a grant funded program at UNCP. With this program was very hands-on and interactive with the students. I worked directly with the professors in the science department.
As a UNCP alumnus, I currently hold a BS in Biology. I have tutored peers in the past during my second year at UNCP. Subjects that I am familiar are science and math. I have a lot of experience in the science field. I currently work full-time in a lab using my science degree. I’m eager to work as a tutor and use my experience to help advance someone else’s education.
