Typing became no longer in high school, why? Kids today growing up haven't a clue to know what it feels like to have to take a typing test. The art is lost. Do big time corporatiojs even care? Maybe not, dollars and cents seem to be the rave anymore. I failed typing in high school. I will never forget my typing teacher Mrs. Stanley. She taught me alot, and more than just how to type. I eneded up taking typing during night classes, while still attending school during the day my senior year. I am so thankful I aquired and somewhat mastered the skill. In my experience with teaching, I find that the best way to connect and convey the information is to provide aural, visual and experiential exposure to the material. Everyone does not learn at the same pace or through the same exposure to material. I would say that my teaching style is very interactive. Anyone can give instructions but I love feedback from a one on one situation as well as a group environment. I base alot of my instruction on analogies; when a person can relate an experience or another word to a term being tought, their understanding is broadened and 99% of the time embedded in the longterm memory. I am a currently a working civil engineer specializing in bridge design (steel and concrete structures). I received scores of 760 in Math on both the SAT I and II, and a score of 800 in Math on the GRE's. I have taken several high level calculus, engineering mathematics, and statistics classes at the University of Delaware, aside from receiving a 5 on both the Calculus and the Statistics AP Exams. I have tutored elementary students in the past, and was part of a 'teaching scientists' after school company briefly in college.
