I served in the US Navy for six years after high school, providing me with a wealth of world experience. I excelled in my studies in the Navy's nuclear power program as a machinist mate and engineering laboratory technician. I subsequently obtained a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I worked for several years in chemical design at Oak Ridge's National Nuclear Security Complex. As a graduate of a sound Liberal Arts College, I've learned that the greatest asset I took away with me was the art of communication. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus in Creative Writing and Spanish. I have written essays upon essays, from creative short-stories to my fifty-page senior thesis, and would love to continue working in a position which allows me to use my hard-earned tools. I am very patient as long as the student is trying to learn and cares about the work. Mental support of students is half the battle. I am comfortable tutoring lower level math classes, mechanical design, or other engineering classes. Writing classes such as English, literature, or fine arts are fine as well.
