I was the salutatorian of my high school class. I excelled in every subject, and was a member of the tutoring club. I also tutored my cousin, who has Down Syndrome, helping him with his summer school work, including literature, handwriting, math, and Spanish. I majored in Art at the Pennsylvania State University. I also took many different courses in Art and Art History, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography. My teaching style is very versatile. I think the best way to teach is to first assess the areas that need the most work, and then devise a simple, logical approach to help the student understand the material. I firmly believe that every child is capable of learning hard concepts, they just have to be taught in a way that is applicable to them. So I first like to get to know the student and try to figure out their learning style and teach them according to how they learn. This helps me figure out where the root of the problem is so I can fix it. Then I like to use a lot of visual and hands-on lessons because children need that to really grasp concepts and to apply it in different situations.
