I love working with children. I believe that children tend to learn best through repetition and making the experience fun. I like to work with flashcards and other such methods. If you take the time with a child they will eventually pick up on what you are trying to teach them. However, there are methods such as acronyms that can be used as well.

A Little Bit About Me...

I my experience in learning and teaching anatomy, which revolves around learning concepts as well as brute memorization, each student, has learned in his or her own unique way. Because of this I feel it is hard to describe my "teaching style." One aspect of teaching that I feel I am very successful in understands each students learning style and being able to adapt to it. I usually follow the curriculum assigned. But I employ the socratic method as well as questioning each fact I teach. I also tie in clinical correlations to make it more interesting. I have found my students repond well to me and like me as a professor and I spend some time tutoring my students at CCAC (Community Colleghe of Allegheny County).
I have always been raised as a stellar student. The focus on education in my parents home was considered the only choice. I graduated top 10% of my high school class and went onto medical school overseas as I had moved back to Pakistan my native country. The most challenging aspect of teaching comes from the many different styles in which students acquire information. While some students benefit more from a hands-on approach, others are better served by visualizations/illustrations, while still others learn best by repetition of material.
