A Little Bit About Me...

Along with 7 other students, I was directly hired out of college to teach 7th grade English. Along with my 4 years of Latin experience, it increased my abilities in the grammatical aspect of the English language. I also tutored college students while I was attending in first yr Latin and math. I took 4 yrs of French in high school, graduated Shenendehowa in 1974. I enjoy working with kids in small groups or one on one. I am a mother of 11 children, the youngest is now 7. I also believe I could assist a first year algebra student or younger.
I love and respect all children and try to meet them where they are. I am very perceptive at times and don't give up easy. If one thing doesn't work, I'd try another. I believe in good education that develops the person, not just prepare them to contribute to society and to make a living.

I have always had a strong passion for learning, and nothing blesses me more in a classroom than seeing a student's eyes light up when the proverbial light bulb flashes on. My goal is to encourage a student to move from drudgery to delight in the learning process, and to instill confidence in his or her ability to grasp challenging concepts. I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a guest lecturer several times at RPI. Due to work and family commitments I did not complete the degree. My wife and I homeschooled our children through the primary grades. I taught sciences. While an Employee at IBM, I wrote and taight technical courses. Physics is my forte and I love talking about and teaching the subject. I am especially helpfull to students challenged by word problems.
