I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Psychology in Educational Leadership (projected graduation 10/2015) at University of the Rockies. I have a total of thirteen years in the business industry, including eight years in financial services, four years running my own businesses. I have been a team mentor and leader, regional mentor, trainer, and for the past 2 ½ years I have been an instructor and tutor at a local college. I have always wanted to teach. While in high school, I spent half of my school day being a teacher's assistance at an elementary school. I started my college experience at Adams State College in the Education department. During my initial years in college, I completed multiple teaching courses including: Intro to Education, Teaching Exceptional Students in a Regular Classroom, and Child Development. I changed degrees to broaden my opportunities but never lost my desire to teach. With my bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics, I learned to break down complex concepts into understandable pieces. I tutored many classmates throughout every level of my education and helped them with learning and applying difficult constructs from math and computers to study skills.

I am a warm and friendly teacher. Students are encouraged in whatever manner works best for them individually. For many, this takes the form of a friendly, cajoling encouragement. Others need reassurance of their capabilities. Regardless of the student, I find that success feeds their success.
